Had a great time at NAMM in Anaheim, California!  Played the new guitars, saw friends including my business idol Stan Werbin from Elderly Instruments, and all our buddies from Martin!

And this report from our friend Steve!

“Hello Sharon and Jon, I wanted to share my pictures of my new MFG Martin J40 custom that I picked up at the factory 10/19/15. This is truly a magnificent and well balanced sounding guitar and I could not be more pleased of this guitar. I want to thank MFG for once again taking me through the steps to acquire this very special guitar, it was truly worth the wait, so hats off to Jon and Sharon both, MFG has been very wonderful to work with as always! This was not my first MFG guitar purchase and I’m sure it will not be my last, great friendly people at MFG!! Warmest Regards Steve”IMG_1387IMG_1396IMG_1395IMG_1384IMG_1397

This is from the first person to purchase our new Martin Custom D-18 with the Vintage Tone System!
Hi Jon,
I want to write a quick note thanking you for helping me decide on the right guitar for me. I think the Custom D18 VTS Adi is a perfect choice.
The sound couldn’t be better and adi top is just beautiful. Buying this sight-unseen was a little unnerving but with your professional help and advice we nailed it perfectly. I appreciate your guidance in selecting the specific guitar and getting it to me in perfect condition ready to play. Set up was ideal and I have had to make no changes the past couple of weeks.
I look forward to many years with the new D18, and who knows even something new from the custom shop again in the future.
Oh, and if you can, will you send me the ‘spec sheet’ from the custom order?
Thanks again!

Ryan Koster sent us this fabulous photo of the legendary Taj Mahal playing Ryan’s sunburst D-18 in the KSPN studios in Apsen, Colorado — the very place where Jon spent many hours back in the 1970′s!!!!!!!

Jon’s 1959 D-28 and his 1953 000-28 conversion.  The ’59 came from Bryan Sutton about ten years ago and can be heard on most of our concert footage and on our MFG CD.  The 000 was obtained from noted luthier Steve Kovacik, (it had been re-topped with Adi and 1/4″ scalloped braces and converted to a 42-style guitar.  Both of these are Jon’s favorites!!!!!!!!!!
